Cross Country Races
Cross Country is a running sport that occurs during the fall. The most common Event in the High School level is the 5k (or 5,000 meters, or about 3.2 miles). In the Collegiate level, the three primary races are the 5k, 8k, and 10k. Cross country races are marked trails that cross through different terrain on purpose. Most trails consists of grassy areas, hills, sand, and hills. For those not running as part of a school, DO NOT feel left out. in matter a fact High school and collegiate athletes will envy you. there are many races throughout the United state, participate in. There are so many races in every state, that i guarantee you will not have enough time to do them all. Some will require registration fees, and others are free! Some have Prizes, some have zombies, others have obstacle courses or even both! Personally i do not enjoy running anything longer than a 5k, but if there are zombies, i would run forever. Fortunately there are race distances of every preference. Races can vary form one mile, up to the "Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race", the longest race in the world! |
