A runners diet is simple,
Avoid foods high in
Distance runners could basically eat what ever they want as long as they keep it somewhat healthy. The most important thing is probably drinking water. Drinking water right before practice or during practice, is not going to do much for you. If you want water to really do its job, Drink a lot of water through the day, at least a water bottle every hour and a half. If you only do one thing the day before a race, drink water. Water is your best friend. My senior Year, State, the robing, and graduation ceremonies where all in the same two days. all i had for two days was apples, bananas, granola bars, 8 hours of sleep and lots of water. Because of the scheduling, i was only able to race in one race. The Medley Relay ( 200m, 200m, 400m, 800,), I got a personal record and the relay team got first.
- Lots of Complex Carbs
- Lean Protein,
- Healthy fats
- Lots of water
- granola bars and fruit are a great pre race meal (an hour before)
